Admission Application Checklist for Elementary School Students

What MPP Looks For
When Selecting Applicants for Admission

  • We admit students that we believe will thrive at MPP. We conduct a comprehensive, holistic review of your application to consider academic and personal characteristics. We review your academic performance, extra-curricular activities outside of the classroom – community involvement, leadership experience, and achievements.
  • We seek to understand how you would grow, contribute and thrive at MPP, and how MPP’s academic community would be positively impacted by you.
  • We encourage you to explore the additional information on this webpage that breaks down the elements of the comprehensive review process at MPP, what we look for, and how you can prepare your strongest application.

MPP Admissions Process:

  • We are delighted that you are interested in attending the MPP Academy. We are accepting applications for the next cohort of students at the MPP Academy! There is no cost to apply.
  • We use a rolling admissions process which means that our office of admissions team will evaluate applications as they are received versus waiting to evaluate all applications after a hard deadline. Therefore, we will accept applications until we have filled all seats for the incoming cohort.
  • Students will receive an Admission Decision Letter within 2 weeks or sooner via email after our office receives a complete application for admission. If you plan to apply for a scholarship/financial assistance, you will be notified of your scholarship award offer in your Admission Decision Letter.

Elementary School Admission Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • We are accepting applications for admission from high-achieving U.S. and international students who are currently enrolled in elementary school as a 4th or 5th-grade student.
  • U.S. citizenship is not required, but an excellent command of the English language, both written and oral, is necessary.

Academic Performance:

  • The MPP Academy targets students who are serious about their academic preparation for college and/or medical school with at least a 3.00 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) in their academic courses completed within the last 12 months of submitting an online admissions application.
  • Students who have earned less than a 3.00 GPA may be considered for admission.

Commitment to Academic Preparation for College:

  • Your commitment to academic preparation for college, becoming a competitive applicant for college admission, and taking ownership of your future college and career goals are the most important factors in our process of selecting students for admission.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

  • Academics are an important part of your application, but we also want to know what you’re engaged in outside the classroom.
  • The Activities section of your admissions application offers our Admissions Committee a glimpse into what excites you, what you’re passionate about, what responsibilities you have outside the classroom and some of the ways you’re contributing to your school and community.

A few tips as you complete the Activities section in your application for admission:

Be yourself. Let the real you shine through.

  • We’re not looking for a specific, predetermined list of activities. We simply want to know how you spend your time outside of the academic classroom.
The more information you provide, the better we will understand who you are, what’s important to you, and the positive impact you’ve had on those around you.
  • You can list a variety of experiences. Be sure to include school-related experiences, part-time work, family responsibilities, summer activities, community experiences, and more.
  • Tell us the amount of time you spend in your extracurricular experiences.
  • The amount of time you dedicate to each activity will give us insight into the depth of your involvement and a sense of the impact you’ve made.
  • Include specific responsibilities for each activity. We want to learn more about the ways you’ve contributed, so include details about your role whenever possible.

Box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541-6151, (609) 771-7100.
